Our programs are designed to begin with an initial detox period if required which
varies depending on the type of addiction. Then continuing through our primary care
program and if required our 2nd stage. Every program is individually customized
and flexible to meet your needs, ensuring you meet your goals.

The first several days of this program consists of nonmedically monitored detox if required - depending
on the drug or alcohol addiction. You will then be introduced into the orientation
assessment and primary treatment. Primary treatment is based on the foundation of
12 step programming which addresses the ongoing medical and psychological concerns
that are often associated with early recovery.
2nd stage
The 2nd stage of your program will continue with the 12 step programming as well
as focus on relapse, co-dependency and trauma.
After care
After care is of ultimate importance for transitioning back to mainstream life.
Continuing with the 12 step program to assist in prevention of relapse, enhance
coping skills, and problem solving skills necessary for day-to-day recovery. Once the
program is completed the patient would then meet with a counsellor once a week for 1-2 year period.
Family counselling
Family counselling is available for family members to come and spend time understanding
their loved ones issues. It is recommended that family members visit their loved ones at least twice in a 30 day period.

Our Extended Program is available for certain individuals who may require a more
intense treatment. It is designed for chronic relapsers, patients
with a prolonged detox, and those with multiple prior treatments.
This program begins with the same foundation as our other programs. Addressing the
ongoing medical and psychological concerns that are often associated with recovery.
The program consists of:
- Primary addiction treatment based on 12-step spirituality during first month.
- Continued 12-step work combined with intensive workshops covering issues such as
relapse, co-dependency and trauma.
- Reflections and other service opportunities for patients during final phase at Whispering
Pines.
